After completion of her sea tour, Fornaro transferred to Coast Guard Sector Los Angeles/Long Beach where she served as a Marine Inspector.

She was then picked up for Naval Flight Training to become a Pilot in the Coast Guard. After two years of training in the T-6B and T-44C, she received her wings of gold and became Coast Guard aviator 5016. She then received orders to fly the HC-27J Spartan at McClellan Airfield for the next four years which has led her to our Woodcreek program and back to the basketball court.
